The EuroMALDI project will be present at the 64th ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics to occur in St. Antonio (TX) in June 2016. This is arguably the most important event in the Mass Spectrometry field across the globe. It is organised every year by the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS).
This year EuroMALDI contributes one poster and one oral presentations to the conference.
The poster, whose presenting author is Dr. Lyna Sellami, studies potential biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease showed in mice brain. It uses the MALDI 7090 instrument and the new developed IonView software for MALDI Imaging.
The oral talk, presented by the recruited researcher, Dr. Luis Mancera, shows a new algorithm based on non-convex optimisation and linear algebra to compress the mass spectrometry data. This new algorithm is able to reduce up to 95% of the data without any significant loss.
We are looking forward to the event and sure that it will be a very profitable experience for the project. See you at St. Antonio!
